



Dieter Schürch completed his studies in general, clinical and developmental psychology at the University of Geneva. He was a student and assistant of Jean Piaget. He obtained a doctorate in Communication Science at the University of Paris-Nanterre. He was the founder and head of the Swiss Institute for Occupational Education in Italian-speaking Switzerland. Visiting professor at the University of Bologna, University of Paris X and, since 2002, lecturer in Ingengeria della formazion at the University of Lugano. Since 2004, he has also run the Laboratory for Education and Innovation (LIFI) at the University of Lugano. Dieter Schürch is a member of the national Unesco Commission. He has drafted several important regional development concepts and has spearheaded their implementation. He is the author of around 40 publications, which have been translated into four languages.
